Developer Tools

To support the development and operational lifecycle, a suite of command-line interface (CLI) tools is provided for use on the host PC. These utilities bridge the gap between the workstation and the target hardware, allowing for high-level data manipulation, system maintenance, and post-mission analysis.

Flash Tool

The Flashing Tool is the primary utility for managing the software state of your device. It facilitates the deployment of updated OS images to the target hardware and provides a direct interface for uploading arbitrary files, such as application binaries, configuration parameters, and data sets. This tool is the standard method for both system-level upgrades and granular filesystem modifications during development and field updates.

Usage:

usage: flash.py [-h] [-a ADDR] {image,other} src

Script to upload a new image to the OXC.

positional arguments:
{image, other} the type of file being uploaded.
src path to the file to upload.

options:
-h, --help show this help message and exit
-a, --addr ADDR IP address of the target.

FileIO Tool

The FileIO Tool is a specialized data utility used to transform human-readable XML parameter files into optimized binary formats. This conversion process ensures that configuration data is structure-aligned and ready for direct consumption by various onboard software modules. By pre-processing XML into binary, the tool reduces the target's parsing overhead and enforces strict schema validation before data is deployed to the hardware.

Usage:

usage: fileio.py [-h] [-p {xml}] [-g {bin}] [input] [output]

File processing script.

positional arguments:
input path to the input file.
output path to the output file.

options:
-h, --help show this help message and exit
-p, --parser {xml} parser used for the input file.
  -g, --generator {bin}
generator used for the output file.

Log Processor Tool

The Log-Processor Tool serves as the critical data bridge between raw hardware output and readable analysis formats. It is responsible for parsing the high-density binary flight logs generated by the Recorder module and converting them into standardized CSV files. Beyond simple format conversion, this utility performs initial data validation and timestamp alignment, ensuring that the resulting datasets are structured correctly for ingestion by the Plot Tool or other third-party spreadsheet and analysis software.

Usage:

Usage: ./log-processor [OPTION]...
Options:
-i, --input <string> Input binary file to process.
                         Default value: log.bin
 -o, --output <string> Output directory.
                         Default value: logs
-h, --help Print the help message.
                         Default value: false
-v, --verbose <long> Logging verbosity, from 0 (silent) to 4 (debug).
                         Default value: 2

Plot Tool

The Plot Tool is a visualization utility used to graph and analyze telemetry data captured during flight. It processes standardized CSV files generated by the Log-Processor Tool, which handles the initial conversion of raw binary logs from the Recorder module. By transforming these processed datasets into interactive charts and timelines, the tool enables post-mission diagnosis, performance verification, and cross-sensor data correlation.

Usage:

usage: plot.py [-h] [-l LOGS]

Log plotting tool.

options:
-h, --help show this help message and exit
-l, --logs LOGS path to the logs directory.
